Some employees may be exposed to certain substances and/or work processes in their normal daily routine which may be hazardous to their health. For example : Radiation, Animal Allergens, Noise, Vibration, Chemicals, Lead, Manual Handling, Blood or Blood Product Contact, Bacteria or Virus Contact etc.

As exposure to any of these substances or processes may not only be harmful to their health, they can also, in some circumstances, pose a significant Health and Safety Risk.

Regular health surveillance or health screening checks are therefore essential to ensure a healthy and safe workforce, thereby reducing the potential risk of sickness absence or personal injury and maintaining optimum workforce levels.
